An excel spreadsheet is available to support evaluations conducted using the SARM approach. It is provided free of charge, and is free to use for any purpose (including commercial). You do need to provide a valid email address to which a download link will be sent. You can review the software licence agreement here.
Guidance on how to use the tool is available in the SARM User Guide or the New SARM User Guide (dependinghttps://sarm.org.uk/docs/new-sarm-user-guide/ on which version you plan to use).
You can choose between downloading an empty copy of the tool, ready for population with your own project, or one pre-populated with the simple ‘Journey to Work’ example that is used in SARM training workshops. Two versions of SARM are available:
- New SARM – a new version of SARM that includes a visualisation approach that is better aligned to evaluation of risk, and offers support for up to 10 quality characteristics (and so is compatible with ISO 25010:2023).
- SARM Version 9.4 – an older version of SARM, offered for continuity for users who want to continue with the older approach to visualising risks. This is not compatible with ISO 25010:2023 as it only supports up to 8 quality characteristics. It will be discontinued altogether in due course.
If you want an older version of the tool, please contact us directly.
